Anyone who has a mechanism to contract directly with a client can register, this includes individuals that are self-employed, those with their own company and those working through an Umbrella company. You will need an email address to be able to register and you will be required to provide your business details including your company name.

Individuals who are working through a Recruitment Agency or represent a Recruitment Agency are not eligible to register on Contractz.

No, Contractz is not a recruitment agency. We do not search for or provide you with contracts. Contractz is a portal that enables freelance contractors and businesses to connect and contract directly. Contractz merely makes the site services available to enable freelance contractors to identify and determine the suitability of contracts for themselves and to enable businesses to identify and determine the suitability of contractors for themselves.

Only businesses that have registered and met our eligibility requirements will be able to see your profile. Recruitment agencies or other intermediaries are not eligible to register for Contractz services. Other freelance contractors registered with Contractz will not be able to view your profile.

The responsibility for IR35 will vary depending on the end client. From 1st April 2017, public sector businesses are responsible for assessing IR35 implications and if contracts are deemed within IR35, they will responsible for ensuring deduction of the right income tax and NI contributions at source by adding contractors to their payroll arrangements. Businesses using Contractz are asked to state if contracts are within or outside IR35 when a contract is advertised. However, it is important that contractors seek professional advice in relation to IR35 for their individual circumstances.

When you login to your Contractz account and as long as you have completed the necessary registration details you will have access to the contract database. The contract database can be found in the left hand panel on your screen. Current contracts will appear in a list in the order they were published. You will be able to identify contracts that match the professional groups you have identified in your profile.

You will also be notified by email if a contract relevant to your professional groups has been added to the database.

Coming soon: an advance search function, enabling detailed searches of the contract database

You can tender for a contract by clicking the green 'Tender Now' button in the contract detail. This will direct you to the proposals page. Here you will be able to build a proposal, including adding a document (businesses will already have access to your CV through your profile so there is no need to attach your CV), write a covering letter, quote a rate, state your availability and respond to any questions the business has posed in the contract advertisement. Once you are happy with your proposal, click 'submit' and your proposal will be sent directly to the business. You will receive a notification when the business responds to your proposal.

No. If you need time to work and review your proposal before submitting, it is suggested you complete your proposal outside of Contractz and then copy and paste your completed proposal once you are ready to submit.

Copies of your submitted proposals can be found in your Sent Items in Messaging.

If you have submitted a proposal and you would like to withdraw it please contact the client directly using the Contractz Messaging system.

If you cannot see any contracts in the Contracts Database, this maybe because you have not completed all the necessary registration information in your profile.

If you have completed the necessary registration details in your profile but still cannot see any contracts, this may be because there are no live contracts in the database at this time. Contractz is being launched to freelance contractors before being launched to businesses. The Contractz Team are working hard to give you access to the best contracts on the market. Please remember that we are a start-up SME aiming to transform the contracting market... Rome wasn't built in a day!

You can set your email preferences in your profile to ensure you are notified by email when a contract is added to the database that matches your professional groups.

No, you are able to discuss and negotiate your rate and other terms directly with the client. However, bear in mind that Contractz provides businesses with visibility of the contractor market and the purpose of advertising contracts is to achieve a competitive and value for money response from a pool of contractors. Therefore, it is important to be competitive but never quote a rate that is unaffordable for you.

Businesses registered with Contractz are able to invite contractors to review and tender for a contract that they have advertised. If you have received an invite to tender for a contract, it means the business would be interested in receiving a proposal from you.
